Hyundai Expanding thier Fountain Valley Headquarters Adding More Jobs
Hyundai Motor Co. announced the building of a new North American headquarters Fountain Valley, California.
“The Korean automaker, the fifith largest automotive company in the world, will invest $150 million in the project,” according to the Orange County Register. “Plans are to more than double the size of the facility to 500,00 square feet.”
Construction for this new building will begin sometime next year and is expected to be finished by the end of 2010.
“The investment ensures Orange County will remain Hyundai’s U.S. hub, with our headquarters in Fountain Valley, for the foreseeable future,” said John Krafcik, chief executive. “The new building will give us the flexibility to grow with our brand, reflect our modern design sensibility, and showcase our commitment to sustainability.”
Along with the new building, over 1,400 people will be added to the staff creating an economic impact of $273 million estimated by the Los Angeles Economic Development Corp.
