2011 Hyundai Equus

As Hyundai’s flagship luxury sedan, the Equus brings a new era to the Hyundai generation. Combining impeccable engineering, high-technology and styling, the Equus is sure to go over well in the U.S. as it has in Korea. In fact, the Equus is so popular among the upper class, the South Korean President has one.

So much talk about the Equus has really excited consumers for this luxury sedan to come on the market in the U.S. and come out soon. But before it we get a chance to test drive this high-class machine ourselves, we leave it to the professionals.

Kyle Thibaut a writer for Crunch Gear wrote about the Equus saying, “This car is for real. There’s enough technology within the driver’s (and backseat passenger’s) reach to require a few trips to the manual, which just so happens to be an app on the included iPad.”

The Equus is much more than just a car. The Equus is built on Hyundai’s world-class rear-wheel-drive architecture and is powered by the award-winning 4.6-liter Tau® V8. The Tau will produce an estimated 385 horsepower using premium fuel and 379 horsepower using regular fuel.

Car and Driver boasted, “It would be hard not to notice the Equus—especially in a Hyundai showroom. At 203.1 inches long, it is 7.2 inches longer than the already big Genesis sedan and less than an inch shy of the long-wheelbase LS. It’s within an inch in width of the Lexus, as well as of the BMW 7-series.”

“You must know, however, that this car is the ‘Ultimate’ Equus, meaning that it is fully loaded with a split personality—it is both a driver’s and a VIP passenger’s vehicle,” according to Thibaut.
