Do You Know What This Symbol Means?
So do you know? This U-shaped pictograph with an exclamation point in the middle symbolizes a low tire pressure warning.
Most drivers do not know what this symbol means since it did not come standard in all new vehicles until 2008. This warning lights up when one of your vehicle’s tires is 25% below the manufacturer’s recommended pressure.
According to Schrader, a company that makes tire pressure monitoring systems, 46% of drivers couldn’t figure out what this icon meant and 14% though the symbol represented a different problem with their vehicles.
Keeping your tires properly inflated is important to your vehicle’s performance and your safety. Low tire pressure can affect your braking, acceleration, stability, cornering and fuel economy.
