How Would You Like To Be Stuck In A 10-Day Traffic Jam?
Wouldn’t it be nice to be in the all-new fully-loaded 2011 Hyundai Equus when you get in a traffic jam?
Right now, a massive traffic jam in Northern China is holding up several miles of roadway and has hit the 10-day mark on Tuesday due to construction in Beijing.
Traffic stretching for miles is holding cars hostage spanning for 60 miles. Bumper to bumper the cars only move a little more than a half-mile a day, and that’s an improvement since this weekend according to Zhang Minghai, director of Zhangjiakou city’s Traffic Management bureau general office.
“The traffic jam began on August 14 on a stretch of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou highway,” the Asian Correspondent reports, “That section has frequently been congested, especially after large coalfields were discovered in Inner Mongolia, Zhang said. Traffic volume has increase 40 percent every year.”
Traffic slowdowns because of construction and accidents are common on the roadways, but a 10-day traffic jam is just plain unusual. It is really nice not to have this kind of traffic over here in the Midwest.
It is times like these you would love to sit in the plush leather reclining seats of the Hyundai Equus and fiddle with your new iPad that the Equus provides. What better to do in a traffic jam than to read to morning news and drink your coffee?
“Equus takes Hyundai’s formula for intelligent luxury to a new level,” said John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. “We’ve applied the lessons in engineering excellence we’ve learned with Genesis to the Equus, while adding a new level of customer experience that will further differentiate our take on luxury from the traditional premium brands.”
The Equus is much more than just a car. The Equus is built on Hyundai’s world-class rear-wheel-drive architecture and is powered by the award-winning 4.6-liter Tau® V8. The Tau will produce an estimated 385 horsepower using premium fuel and 379 horsepower using regular fuel.
The Hyundai Equus will be launched in the late 2010 summer and with it will come a nice option, an Apple iPad lieu of an owner’s manual. Hyundai announced at the New York Auto Show that the 2011 Equus will come with a multimedia tablet instead of a traditional owner’s manual. Hyundai has confirmed that the Apple iPad is the all-new Hyundai Equus owner’s manual.
